Resurgent Jaguar has a four-driver short list for three seats next
season – Irvine, de la Rosa, Pizzonia and Webber.
De la Rosa, despite being the only one with a contract, is likely to
be the one to miss out. Eddie is flavour of the month within the team
following his recent performances and has an offer on the table. Seems
likely he’ll take it in view of the problems at Jordan.
Pedro, on the other hand, is being blamed by some – Eddie for one –
for giving the team poor feedback during the early testing of the
recalcitrant R3. Suggestion is that he was telling the engineers what
they wanted to hear, while Eddie was being ignored for telling them
that the problems were more fundamental. Now everygody knows he was
right.
Pizzonia and Webber have both impressed in their tests for the team.
