Actually, two things.
Firstly, congratulations to Ferrari on achieving something which I
would never have thought possible……getting their lead driver
through an entire season without a single mechanical mishap in the
races. OK, luck on their side – just last weekend, Michael missed a
whole session with hydraulic problems – but still a remarkable
demonstration of team focus and concentration. (After all, the drivers
are irrelevant if the cars break down.)
Secondly, isn’t it nice to have gone through a whole season without a
single fatality or serious injury…..particularly after the tragedies
of the previous couple of seasons. Once again, some luck involved –
and always room for improvement – but if the regulations on crash
testing and driver protection weren’t as good as they are then we
could well have lost Sato and McNish for good.

Astonishing! Not just finishing every race, but finishing on the
*podium* in every race.
