iPhone app?

Has anyone else installed the F1 Insider app for the iPhone?  I’ve got
the "light" version and was curious if anyone had the full up.  If so,
do you like it?

    G’day Dillon,
I’m told a few blokes around the paddock are using an iphone app from
Soft Pauer (pronounced ‘Power’), it looks pretty good you can switch
between a dynamic track view and the live timing. The screen looks too
small to me to be useful (old eyes) but if you are used to it …
anyhow I have not used it, so …

sorry can’t be more help. if you have specific questions I’ll ask a
    bloke who has it.
    beers,

Looking at it from his perspective, I’d say… *maybe*.

    I don’t think he’s thinking beyond the end of this season, to be honest;
he was talking about moving to a test drive anyway, so the
oversubscription for next year probably isn’t worrying him at the
moment, and he’s going to drive five races for Ferrari. For an Italian
with a chance like that, I don’t think wisdom really enters into it. :)

Aye – it sounds as though there’s a third driver seat for next year in
    the package, too.

My reservation would be how quickly he can adapt – the Force India is
    last year’s McLaren <bksp> <bksp> <bksp>
not a Ferrari, and he’ll have as much testing as Luca did.

Still, I’ve always thought Fisi was something really special, so
    perhaps he can overcome it.

As I understand it Fisichella has always been unusually vocal (even for
an Italian) about being prepared to drop any other obligations if he
ever got a call from Ferrari.

    The 2010 reserve slot, says

I hope he does well – he could hardly do worse than Badoer.

    Agree Mark.
Fisi would be a fool to turn down an opportunity from the greatest
    team in F1.
His promotional value will double overnight regardless of his results.
That said I doubt his results will be much less than Kimi’s if not
    better (I’m sentimental).

He could end up as third driver / test driver for Ferrari.
Fisi thinks that’s better than driving a winning Force India car?

Well, as I said, what I heard was that he wasn’t thinking of a race
drive next season anyway. So third driver for Ferrari’s probably better
    than third driver for FI.

Although since they don’t seem to do anything at all these days except
sit around waiting for one of the race drivers to hit a wall or fall off
a mountain bike, I don’t suppose it makes much difference in the end.
The pay’s probably a bit better at Maranello, mind you…

Badoer (and Gené) hasn’t been "idle" in 2009 because Ferrari test
drivers work a lot at promotional events for clients and fans. Badoer
has tested the F60 a bit during the winter session (but much less that I
originally thought, and that showed) while Gené hasn’t even done that
limiting his work on the F60 to straight-line shakedowns which are still
    allowed under test limitations.

Work with clients seem the perfect occupation for Fisichella, who has
always been media-friendly and little more.

out of this corner that we’ve painted ourselves into, because you can’t
race these cars. It’s more about pitstops and maybe the driver in front
making a mistake than actual racing now."  – Ross Brawn, 2005

    Very good point.

An Italian driver in Ferrari?  He has always said he wants that more
than anything in the world.  Just to slap on that red firesuit will
satisfy him for the rest of his life.

BUT, Italian fans have always been particularly hard on Italiand
drivers at Ferrari.  But he’s very popular, so maybe some of that will
carry him far enough into his short season where he can finally
    produce something.
