Irvine has threatened to leave Ferrari if he is asked to act as second
driver again next year. Irvine added that speed is not enough, not
making mistakes is important and M. Schumacher makes too many
mistakes.

I think the MS accindent has well and truly put the cat amoungst the
pigions, and if the two (three ?) drivers don’t remember that the /
team / is the inportant thing in all this they may well find Ferrari
deciding who, if any, of the drivers thay whant……..!
It is nice for the team to have the W/C driver the next sesson but
that IS not the be & end all of it, the D Hill / williams situation a
case in piont, thay are there to make money for them self’s and the
sponsors. The drivers are there to do a / job / ie what the team needs
doing.
When MS do’s come back, if Irvine is on track for the W/C, he should
be prepaired to be the ‘back up’ for Irvine, just as any other driver
would if thay were in that postion, and even offer to do so. But we
will see….
If Irvine is not already leaving, I think he has to watch what he says
as Ferrari has a repacement driver driving for them already, who is
more than greatfull to MS.
As for M Salo I think he can’t loose, one way or another.

Irvine has now denied making the statements against Ferrari and M.
Schumacher reported by Italian Catholic weekly magazine Famiglia
Cristiana.
