Which country? The German RTL will broadcast the 2000 season.

Yes, I was referring to German TV (I get it over the Hotbird satellite). I
was just wondering because some time ago I heard some rumors statting RTL
wouldn’t broadcast F1 anymore due to Bernie’s unstoppable greed for money.

    > Goodbye Damon

Unfortunately will only see that London Rowing Club colour scheme on an F1
Helmet during the four upcoming GP’s. :(

Maybe one of his children adds a third title to the Hill family.

Fourth title… remember, his dad had two!  And Indianapolis … and Le
    Mans…
I wonder if Damon has any feelings about going to Indianapolis  (or not
going – as the case may be, now) – a place where his dad had a great victory

Man … when I wrote that post I was probably drinking something and just
miscounted those 1962, 1968 and 1996 World Titles. Maybe in 2015 we see
either Oliver or Joshua Hill driving an F1 car.

    Oliver suffers from Downs Syndrome.

Maybe we’ll see Tabitha driving? :-)

I don’t care anymore. From next season I will have a permanent
subscription to digital TV (this season I only had a
    three-month-trial-subscription).
On the other hand – I have to deal with Jacques Schulz.
For all non-German viewers: When there is a 66-lap-race and a driver
makes his first stop after 22 laps, J. Schulz thinks that the driver is
    on a three-stop-strategy.

She was born during the 1996 German GP. She’s 3 years old now.

I`m thinking about getting DF1 again… RTL it just crap.
Pay Per View would be the best for me – cause I only want to pay for
F1 and not for tons of old movies and shows I don`t want to see…

Remember – compared to RTL`s Heiko Wasser he is John Watson :-)

If you need them, here are the prices when "Premiere digital" and "DF1"
become "Premiere World" on October 1:

    - d-Box: 15 DM
    – Movie + Sport Package: 45 DM
    – all three packages (+ Family): 50 DM

Twice in the pits and once in parc-ferme?

Well, it is a three stop strategy. Twice for fuel and tyres and then
the stop after the checkered flag. Right? :-)

To add or subtract one or not to add or subtract one, that’s the
    *real* question…

    Cheers.

How about a review for the rest of us?
I, for one, am interested in this service but don’t know a hell of a lot
    about it at the moment.

    Worth the money?

Depends on you. I say yes, other people I know say no.

In Germany we have 6 feeds (I think in some countries they have 7)

    - Supersignal (similar to the world feed)
    – Back Field
    – Cockpit (the whole race from different cockpits; very interesting
angles, e.g. in the rear mirror showing the driver)
    – Pits/Highlights/Interviews (already during the race)
    – Race data (the same as the teams and commentators at the track have)
    – Multisignal (split screen with the first four signals)

You can also switch off the commentary and enjoy the pure sound (in
    dolby surround).

And you get all sessions live including the press conferences.

Rumoured to be reduced to 3 next year (but that might depend on the
country). Bernie is losing an awful lot of money with Digital TV
currently and might decide to cut costs.

There was an interview (or more likely a press-conference transcript)
with Bernie on the latest (French) Sport-Auto.

I will not pay a lot of money for only 3 feeds. He’ll lose more money
than now, if he really reduces the feeds.

  23. Maybe if he actually launched it he’d lose less money, it has to be a
better idea than cutting service before people have even seen it.

You have to pay 60 DM (it`s more expensive now after premiere joined DF1)
and have to pay for tons of B-Movies and shows you don`t want to see.
There’s no way to get only what you want (F1). But if you have to money
watching F1 on DF1 instead of crap RTL is just great. Ex F1 pilot
Marc Surer is commentating and is doing a great job!
