Stalone's Movie

This year and last Fox coverage of the F1 season was "highlighted" with bits
of Sylvester Stalone at the races doing background work for an F1 movie he
has in the works.

I’m hoping that it won’t be a Rocky Balboa in Nomex movie – an insane dash
with two flat tires (Bridgestone), a blown engine (Supertec), and a crushed
vertebrae (accident at Monza) to win the drivers championship (with hugs
from JV) sort of thing.

It is fun to speculate though.  A remake of Grand Prix would be interesting.
A hard-working American (Anyone but Kevin Costner) fighting his way into F1.
A young American Soapbox Derby hotshot (Leonardo DiCaprio) meets obscure and
enigmatic retired expatriate F1 Great (Sean Connery) who teaches the young
apprentice F1 racing starting with changing the oil in a Red
Barchetta……………

But I don’t know what it will be.  Has anyone heard?

Stallone’s F1 flic is being called "Into thin air".
Plot summary: Stallone is a retired Formula 1-driver, who coaches a
    promising new star/rookie-driver.
No release date yet set. Still in pre-production.

You left out winning in the rain at Spa after losing the right-front wheel!
    (or was it the left?)

"Into Thin Air"?  Good title for a story about climbing Everest, but for
Formula One?  Surely they can do better.

At least they didnt call it ‘Past the chequered flag’  or ‘driving for
glory’ or something similarly as tacky!!

    mmmm…… sounds very Rocky 5 to me….

my guess is at the end of the film, rookie will crash and be in a coma, so
Stallone will go out and win the final race narrowly beating the (evil German)
rival that caused the crash for the rookie…..

That’s a good one, as would be fit for the *records*…

But really, I’ve been looking forward to another F1 movie, only good one
    was in ’67…

ok how about these film/song titles…

‘Spa-attack-us’ – a remake of the Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis classic
‘Spartacus’ with Villeneuve and Zonta in the lead roles…..or Damon Hill in
‘Should I Stay Or Should I go?’ and possibly even Mark Webber in ‘The Man
    Who Fell To Earth’…..

That could also be BAR, Supertec……

Just to add my two pence worth, and to see how long it takes to be posted:

I never really loved you anyway (I’m so happy you’re moving away)
                                    – M Shumacher

Singin’ in the Rain – A Senna

(I’ve had) the time of my life – D Hill

    I feel good – M Salo

I’m surprised no-one come up with

The Italian Job – The Barrichello story

    Twins – The Fischichella/Wurtz story

There’s more in my head somewhere, but they seem to be staying put.

Right, lets see how long this takes to get to the group!
